Overview

Shiftlab’s schedule approval process ensures that schedules are reviewed and verified by the appropriate leadership before being finalized. This process provides control over schedule changes and prevents unapproved edits.

When to Use This

  • When your company requires managerial or leadership review of schedules

  • To ensure schedules are accurate before publishing

  • To lock schedules from further edits once approved

Submitting a Schedule for Review

  1. Build the schedule as the store manager or schedule builder.

  2. Locate the Draft status in the top-right corner of the schedule view.

  3. Click the dropdown menu and select In Review.

  4. The schedule status will update to In Review, indicating that it is ready for leadership approval.

Reviewing and Approving a Schedule

  1. Leaders or authorized reviewers access the schedule marked In Review.

  2. Review the schedule for accuracy, coverage, and compliance with company requirements.

  3. Once the schedule is verified, change the status from In Review to Approved using the same top-right dropdown menu.

  4. Depending on company settings, approving the schedule may:

    • Lock the schedule to prevent further edits

    • Allow edits if lock-down is disabled

Key Details & Definitions

  • Draft: Initial status for schedules being built by the schedule creator.

  • In Review: Status indicating the schedule is submitted for leadership review.

  • Approved: Final status indicating the schedule is verified and ready to implement.

  • Locking: Prevents further edits after approval; may be enabled or disabled by company preference.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Schedule cannot be approved: Verify you have the appropriate leadership permissions.

Schedule still editable after approval: Check if the company has disabled automatic lock-down.

Cannot submit for review: Ensure the schedule is complete and all required fields are filled.
