Overview
The Shiftlab Mobile App allows managers to build schedules, manage shifts, review staffing insights, and make scheduling updates while on the go.
This guide walks through the main areas of the scheduling experience, including navigating your schedule, understanding shift information, reviewing performance insights, and managing open shifts.
Navigate the Schedule View
When you open the schedule screen, you'll have access to several tools to help manage your schedule.
Menu: Tap the Menu icon to access additional scheduling actions including:
Copy Schedule
Bulk Copy
Bulk Approval
Store Settings
Clear Schedule
Select a Store: Use the Store Selector to switch between locations and view schedules for different stores.
View Insights & Analytics: Tap the Insights icon to view scheduling and performance information, including budget tracking and store metrics.
Manage Schedule Status: The schedule status indicator shows whether your schedule is in draft or approved status. Tap the status to update or approve the schedule.
Filter or Sort Shifts: Use the filter option to quickly find shifts by employee, shift type, or adjust the sort order.
Access Additional Tools: Tap the Tool Box icon to access additional management features.
Navigate Between Weeks: Use the previous and next week arrows to move through your schedule. You can also use the calendar selector to jump directly to a specific date or scheduling period.
Understanding Shift Cards
Each shift card contains important details about an employee's scheduled shift.
Shift Actions
Tap the Green + button anchored to the bottom- right of the schedule view. Tap it to open the action menu shown below.
Expanded view:
Add Time Off: quickly add employee time off requests. Select date range and employees.
Add unavailability: Mark people when employees cannot work. Track constraints.
Create New Shift: Primary action for creating new shifts. Open full creation form.
Employee and Shift Details
A shift card displays:
Employee name and profile image
Employee role or position
Shift start and end time
Store location
Shift type
Additional indicators may appear on the shift cards and what do they mean:
Green status indicator — The employee is currently active.
Blue label — Indicates employee unavailability.
Pink label — Indicates approved time off.
Yellow flag — Tap to view break information or shift notes.
Red flag — Indicates an attendance issue on a past shift.
Grayed-out shift — Indicates the shift belongs to another store location.
Review Store and Employee Insights
The Insights area helps you understand staffing, labor, and performance trends.
Store Metrics
Within the Store view, you can review:
Interactive graphs with detailed data points
Budget performance
Gross profit
Traffic and sales metrics
Scheduled hours
Trending punched hours
Planned versus actual performance
Employee Metrics
Within the Employee view, you can review:
Employee scheduled hours
Actual versus scheduled hours
Role hour ranges
Individual employee performance metrics
Manage Open Shifts
The Open Shifts section displays shifts that still need to be assigned.
Expand the Open Shifts area to review available shifts and quickly fill staffing gaps.
To manage an open shift, tap the three-dot menu to:
Duplicate the shift
Edit the shift details
Delete the shift
