To access the time off request portal you will first need to open the time off sidebar. This is done by clicking on the calendar icon on the top right-hand corner of your Shiftlab screen once you are logged in.

When you are viewing the time off request portal you will see the option to toggle from “My Requests” to “Team Requests”.

Your personal requests will show under 'My Requests', but in order to view all time off submissions awaiting your approval you will click on 'Team Requests'.

Once you are there you will see the employee’s name, whether they have requested paid or unpaid time off and the type of leave requested (vacation, personal, etc.), the date the request was made, the date the request is for, and whether it’s a partial day, full day or date range.

The leave types will be based on your company's policy, so they may vary from what you see here.

The requests will appear in chronological order, and then in the order that they were received (in the event a day is in high demand, the user that requested it first will appear first).

To approve or decline a request you will click the “Respond” button. That will take you directly to that date on the schedule so you can easily see how it affects your schedule.

All time off requests can be seen directly on your schedule, without accessing the time off request portal.

From there you have the option to approve or decline a request. If you approve it, click the green check mark, and that date will be added to your schedule after you refresh the screen.

If the time off is PAID time it will appear on the schedule in pink, and if it is UNPAID time it will appear in blue.
