Overview
This article explains how new users gain access to Shiftlab and log in for the first time. Access requires an invitation sent to the email address listed for your company.
And/or, if your company uses an Embedded Single Sign On process, reach out to your Company Administrator for login instructions.
When to Use This
Use this guide when:
You are a new Shiftlab user.
You received a Shiftlab invitation email and need to complete your setup.
You did not receive an invitation email and need to confirm your information.
You need to log in to Shiftlab for the first time.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Accept Your Invitation
A manager or admin must invite you to Shiftlab.
The invitation email is sent to the email address listed for your profile.
Open the email and select the "Join" Access Link.
2. Set Your Password
After selecting the link within the Email, you will see two password fields.
Enter and confirm a password that meets the minimum requirement of 6 characters.
Save your password.
3. Log In to Shiftlab
After setting your password, go to the Shiftlab login page.
This URL will vary depending on what Company Name is being used. If you do not know, reach out to your Company Administrator.
Enter your email address and new password.
Log in to access your schedule.
Bookmark the page for quick access in the future.
4. Add Shiftlab to Your Mobile Home Screen (Optional)
You can save the Shiftlab web application to your mobile device home screen.
Open Google Chrome or another browser on your phone.
Enter your company’s Shiftlab URL, which is based off the Company Name being used. The format for this URL is: [
CompanyName].myshiftlab.app. If you do not know the Company Name to use, contract your Administrator.If prompted, select Add Shiftlab to Home Screen.
If not prompted automatically:
Open the browser menu (three dots or settings icon).
Select Add to Home Screen.
Confirm and the Shiftlab icon will appear on your home screen.
Key Details & Definitions
Invitation Email: The email sent by a manager or admin that provides your unique access link.
HR System Email: The email address stored in your employer’s HR records. This must match the email used for your Shiftlab invite.
Password Setup: The required step to activate your Shiftlab account before logging in for the first time.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
I did not receive the invitation email. What should I check?
Verify with your manager that your email address is correct in Shiftlab and matches your company's system that stores Employee details.
My access link is not working. What should I do?
Request a new invitation from your manager or admin.
I cannot log in after setting my password.
Confirm that you are using the same email address that received the invite.
Who can help if I still cannot access Shiftlab?
Contact support using the in-app chat bubble.
My company utilizes an embedded login in experience, what should I do?
Contact your Company Administrator for Single Sign On instructions.
How do I add a new User/Employee to Shiftlab as I do not see their profile?
Users are automatically created in Shiftlab through an integrated system, such as your HR platform, POS system, or another employee data migration your company uses. If you do not see a User added into Shiftlab, reach out to your Company Administrator.
Manual user creation is available for exceptions only. Depending on the company settings and security role requirements, this setting might not be available to you. If you have this option, you may be able to create a New User directly by navigating to the Employees tab, select + Add Employee, and enter the required employee information. However this is only available for exceptions, and the best path is to reach out to your Company Administrator if you do not see a User in Shiftlab.
